Pleased to report that as of June 2018, Basil M Karatzas has achieved the prestigious Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) certification by the American Society of Appraisers - Machinery & Technical Specialties, Machinery & Equipment.
Basil has been active with Vessel Valuations for more than a decade now having provided more than 5,000 valuations for shipping banks, investors and shipowners. Basil has also published extensively on vessel valuations on "last done" and market comparable approach, replacement cost method and income approach method, and he has been the protagonist of a Harvard Business School (HBS) for a valuation of two capesize vessels in the tumultuous times of 2008 (Vereinigung Hamburger Schiffsmakler und Schiffsagenten e.V. (VHSS): Valuing Ships).
